I am from Pennsylvania, born in Philadelphia and raised in West Chester. I have always been a Painter. My love of art ignited in high school and I was drawn to the role of photographer at the University of Vermont in Burlington. The camera and the dark room fascinated me. I found it to be an awesome way to connect with friends, family and even strangers. Photography means a study of the world around me. There are few forms of expression so intimate as trying to capture essence and mood, whether the interaction is one to one or one to thousands.

I have lived in New York City for a little over a year. I have an apartment in Brooklyn and study photography at The Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan. My devotion to travel, culture and portraiture has led me to Anthropology and photojournalism. In appreciation of the pure aesthetics of an image as well as the meaning behind it, I continue to explore possibilities in and out of the studio and this correlation between the environment and the subject. The first photography book that ever caught my eye was that of Lucien Herve’s work. I learn from the pioneers like Ansel Adams, Edward Weston and Paul Strand. For inspiration I look to photographers, filmmakers and artists such as Irving Penn, Richard Avedon, Guy Bourdin, Jim Jarmusch, Picasso and Andrew Wyeth. Recently I have been following documentary photographers like Robert Frank, James Nachtwey, and Weegee.
