Chris Heard - Comedian
If you were to conduct an award ceremony and give a medal to the hardest working guy in show business, Christopher Heard would be at that ceremony. He’d be the guy in the stands arguing with the cotton candy man for selling him the smallest one, because there’s clearly bigger cotton candies on that tray, man.
However, Heard is no stranger to both critical and regular-person acclaim within the entertainment world. In 2007, he was named the Funniest Person in Orange County in a comedy competition and awarded $1000, which he promptly spent on a tricky home security system to confound his crazed fans. Although the outlandish glamour of his win has since dimmed, he is still known to drunks at local bars as “That Dude Who Said That One Thing At The Place Tommy Made Us Go To.”
Heard has also managed to become a curiously dynamic figure within the music scene, thanks to his lyrical contributions to whip hop groups, The New Kissing Techniques and A Star Destroyer. He somehow manages to get by without any knowledge of basic musical instruments and says, “If it ain’t broke, I probably can’t afford it. If it is broke, how am I going to learn on that guitar?”
A recent graduate of Chapman University with a degree in English and Creative Writing, Heard has more than prepared himself for a career as a valet driver. And in an attempt to find his roots in 2008, he lived half the year in London, only to find that his roots were watered with alcohol.
A constant peddler of the amusing and imaginative, Heard is currently working on a brand new act as well as an untitled feature film project. When asked how he plans to scale the ranks within the merciless world of art, Heard replied, “You just have to step up and believe you’re gonna be the next guy to throw that bullseye. And even if you miss the mark, at least you hit the board. Which means you tried. You said ‘darts,’ right? Whatever.”
