Artyom Zakharenko - Cinematographer

Born in Vyborg, Russia in 1987. Artyom spent most of his youth there and in the cultural capitol of Russia, St. Petersburg. Thanks to his mother who is an artist, Artyom was exposed to the world of creativity at a very young age and encouraged to pursue his passion of visual art.
Sparking with an interest in still photography, Artyom learned about the complexities of filmmaking at the age of 14 after watching a movies “making of” documentary. It was then and there that he decided to become a filmmaker.
After three years of saving, Artyom bought the love of his life, his first camera. Through practicing on this, he got a job at Regio22 a local television station. Here he developed technical and style skills while shooting news reports, commercials and corporate films over four years.
Upon moving to Amsterdam, Artyom became a freelance Director of Photography for national television stations and film production companies such as Eyeworks, BleuCircle & MTV. He is currently back in Amsterdam after spending time in the states building his directing reel.
